For reflection:

  1. Recall a time in your life where someone or a group of people let you down or broke a promise or vow. How did the experience impact your ability to trust their integrity after?
  2. Where in your own life or circumstances do you notice your own tweaking of Jesus’ call to radical integrity? How do you think it has impacted those you encounter negatively?
  3. What have you actively done to successfully demonstrate your integrity?
  4. If we follow this idea of radical integrity, what in our lives must change when it comes to our word being trustworthy? How many of these things are observable behaviors?
  5. How do our promises and the extent of them show our true selves?
  6. What does it look like to move towards a promise that needs no more than our own reputation to be trusted?
  7. How do we restore our reputation for integrity after we’ve broken that reputations by our actions of not holding to our promises?
  8. As we think about truth telling and integrity in a world of misinformation, what practices can help us ensure that the information we share and the statements we make have an integrity? Before we make them and after?
  9. Can you think of a time you appreciated someone else’s integrity? How did their integrity impact the situation?
